Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Want to Re-read

Tuesday 4 November 2014

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by bloggers at The Broke and the BookishThis week I'm sharing the top ten books I want to re-read.

1. Genesis by Lara Morgan

9303291

This book brings back so many happy memories of reading, and I absolutely love the whole series. It's by an Australian author as well, and was probably one of the first YA novels I ever read.

2. A Waltz for Matilda  by Jackie French

9622286

This is another one of my all-time absolute favourites which I have re-read a number of times already and will always go back to if I'm in a reading slump.

3. Matched by Ally Condie

7735333

I really enjoyed the 'Matched' trilogy as a whole, but the first book was always my favourite.

4. Slammed by Colleen Hoover

13372690

Not just because Will Cooper is perhaps the best book-boyfriend around, but for the reason that this book is a contemporary that touched my heart.

5. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J.K. Rowling

72193

I don't even think this needs an explanation.

6. The Annihilation of Foreverland by Tony Bertauski

13368166

This book BLEW. MY MIND. It has such a unique concept with so many twists and turns.

7. Zoo by Tara Elizabeth

17385388

This also has a great idea behind it and went in a completely new direction than I first thought it would.

8. The Book Thief  by Markus Zusak

19064

Beautiful prose and a fantastic story make me want to immerse myself in this book again (even at the risk of sobbing my eyes out once more).

9. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken

16149368

This dystopian series is just plain amazing, and although I've already re-read the first book a couple of times, I wouldn't mind picking it up again.

10. Starters by Lissa Price

11544503

It still seems strange seeing my name in a book (which doesn't happen often), but I really loved this one and since I have 'Enders', before I read that I need a refresher from book one.

Over to you - what books do you want to re-read or go back to regularly?

  2. Oh, wow, it's been years since I read The Annihilation of Foreverland...that thing was WHOA! But I didn't know anyone else who had read it.
Harry Potter was on my list...yeah, no explanation necessary. Those books are amazing.
And while I liked Matched, for some reason I'm struggling to work up the motivation to finish the series. I started Crossed in, like, February or something, and I just haven't finished it yet. I also own Reached.
And BTCYA convinced me that I need to read The Darkest Minds. All I have to do now is actually see it in a store (I haven't yet).

    1. I hadn't known anybody else who had read it either, but it definitely did surprise me big-time! I had to find the motivation to read the rest of the Matched series, but in the end I'm glad that I finished it.

  3. HARRY POTTTTERR. I'd reread that in a heartbeat... (actually, I sneaked in an Order of the Phoenix reread this year already so I'm super stoked about that). I remember reading Rosie Black but the weird thing is, I don't remember much about it. Which is a shame. Maybe I should give it a go one day because you really do love it!

    1. I've reread a few of the Harry Potter books, but I'm hoping to fit in the series again (although that all depends on when I will actually have time). Rosie Black is a great series, and one that I'd definitely go back to.

  4. I feel awful that I have only read Harry Potter and The Book Thief out of all these books D: And they are definitely on my 'want to re-read' list.

Back before blogging I used to re-read my absolute favourite books all the time. The two books that I have read the most, though, are Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier and French Kiss by Sarra Manning. I never got bored with reading this books for some reason :D

As for books I feel like re-reading at the moment, I really want to re-read Ignite by Erica Crouch because it is one of my all time favourites and I just want to get the feeling it gave me back again ^.^

    1. I've heard of Wildwood Dancing but not French Kiss, but now I do really want to read them, especially since I've heard great things about the former. Thanks for giving me some more inspiration for books to read Chiara :)

  5. Completely agree with Slammed. It was my first Colleen Hoover book and I still think her YA titles are much better than her NA ones. But I liked Point of Retreat even more, so incredibly funny. The Book Thief has been on a few lists this week, I really have to read it. I bought a copy months and months ago, started it and couldn't get into it.

I really need to see what all the fuss is about. Thanks for sharing Eugenia, awesome list <3

    1. It was my first as well, and although I have enjoyed her NA ones that I've read so far, Slammed will always be my favourite, and I agree - Point of Retreat definitely had those funny moments which made it an enjoyable read. I'd definitely recommend you read The Book Thief - it is the type of book that does call for you to be in the mood to read it, but once you get into it the story is amazing!

  6. Wow, you've listed a fair few amazing books that I haven't read before! I've got Starters, Slammed and The Darkest Minds on my shelf but haven't read them yet obviously. The Book Thief is one I would love to re-read to experience that amazing writing again <3 Great list Genie!

    1. Those three are all really great reads (especially Slammed!) and I hope that you do get to reading them :) The writing in The Book Thief was so well done and powerful, so that's one of my reasons for wanting to re-read it too . Thanks for stopping by Jeann :)

  7. I'd love to reread Harry Potter (not that it's necessary...) and The Book Thief as well! If only there was more time! I also really need to start The Darkest Minds trilogy...here's hoping I'll get the entire set for Christmas. *fingers crossed*

    1. Exactly! There are not enough hours in the day to read all the books we wish we could. The Darkest Minds is awesome, once you read the first book you're pretty much hooked :)
