I didn't write a review for this, but I did enjoy Mothers and Daughters as a piece of Australian fiction which has an interesting insight into that dynamic.

  • Hansel and Gretel by Neil Gaiman - I read The Sleeper and the Spindle which Neil Gaiman retold in a really fascinating way, so I can't wait to check out this one!

*Other news*

I have a giveaway running for 3 copies of 'This Shattered World' by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner so if you're interested you can check it out here

  1. I prefer this cover of Dissonance than I do the other cover, that one is.. ooo, pretty! Is Neil Gaiman worth trying for somebody who is really wary? I mean, I've heard his work is great, but I'm nervous, is it worth it? :) Have a wonderful week Genie! :D

    1. He is definitely worth reading, especially if you're into fairytale retellings. I was a little but wary at first too, but definitely was blown away! Thanks for visiting Amanda :)

  2. Hansel & Gretel! I'm dying to read this one. I've loved Nail Gaiman's other work and this one looks to be a really dark and delicious retelling. Looking forward to seeing what you think of it. I've seen Dissonance around on Goodreads in my updates, is it an older title that's just been released in print here? I don't know much about it, but will be looking out for your verdict and might add it to my shelves as well.

Have an awesome week of reading poppet <3

    1. It does indeed Kelly! It is an older release which recently has come out here with this cover. Hope you have a great week too :)

  3. Hansel and Gretel looks sooo good. Those books would make wonderful gifts. Gosh, I just wrote "gifs" instead of gifts then. I seriously need to get off the internet.

  4. I didn't like the AUS/UK cover for Dissonance at first, but it's growing on me now...still prefer the US one however. Can't wait to see your thoughts on this one, Genie. :) I'll also have to check out Mothers and Daughters - I really love that cover for some reason. Hope your week is going well, and thank you for sharing my post! :D

    1. Also, I really want Hansel & Gretel and The Sleeper and the Spindle - they look so gorgeous! Very expensive though...for the size of them.

    2. I still prefer the US one too, but it's what's on the inside that counts right? - and it looks really promising :) The Neil Gaiman books are expensive, but definitely worth it for the stunning illustrations.
