As you may or may not know, I finally took the plunge and got Instagram!
It's amazing how many bookish people are out there using it already, and now I'm happy to be part of it. If you wan to follow me on there, my username is the same as my twitter genie_inabook. I've already done one tag, and am looking forward to doing more in the future (it really is quite fun lining up books for a photo shoot - they're probably the best behaved models out there).
To celebrate the occasion, here's a giveaway - open INTERNATIONALLY!
AHH CONGRATS ON BEING ON INSTAGRAM!! I love it so much. I didn't think I'd use it very much at first, but omg, I like post ALL THE TIME. So addictive. And there are such talented photographers on there that I just drool over all their photos and try and get tips from . XXD
ReplyDeleteThanks Cait! It is definitely addictive, and I love seeing all the amazing bookish accounts, including yours :)
DeleteI think I may also need to take the plunge and get it. NOT THAT I HAVE THE HSC OR ANYTHING IN A FEW MONTHS O_O But yeah, I see all these pretty photos and they're just so lovely...
ReplyDeleteHaha yes, I know what you mean (warning - it is a *tad* addictive), but doing all the book tags is so much fun :)
DeleteInstagram is an amazing place for sharing photos with people who follow you! I'm on there too and I have followed you with my account (@fayemat). Can't wait to see your future photos of books and hopefully of yourself as well? ;D
ReplyDeleteFaye at The Social Potato
Thanks for following Faye! :)
DeleteTHANKS FOR THE GIVEAWAY! Omg I haven't even delved into the land of Instagram... yet (it sounds addictive ahah). But if I do I'll be sure to follow you ;)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Kara :) It is addictive (because BOOK PHOTOS...and cute animals), but lots of fun to use too.
DeleteI was looking at my instagram feed the other day and realised I only post photos of my books and my cats, I should branch out (but to what, I'm not entirely sure lol) hooray for joining up! It's a great way to be nosey and check out what others are up to :)
ReplyDelete- Wattle @ Whimsical Nature
Books and cats are brilliant photo subjects :) I'm trying to branch out a bit with some nature scenes, but books I think will be my main focus (they do make good models).
DeleteI've followed you on Bookstagram, I'm so excited that you've got an account and even more excited that you have Night Film now! Can't wait to hear what you think. Hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeann! I read Night Film previously and loved it (though it may be time for a re-read at some point :)
Delete*whispers* I'm the only one not on Instagram. I know, I'm not the cool hipster everyone thought I was. I don't think anyone would be interested in random photos from me, the dog photobombs most of mine anyway. I'll be upgrading from my Windows phone soon, so you never know, I might start stalking you all on there, waving my happy snaps about. Congratulations poppet, looking forward to seeing your world in photos <3
ReplyDeleteOh Kelly, Instagram or not - you'll always be a cool hipster! :) Hopefully with a new phone you'll be able to join in too.
DeleteHello! I just wanted to quickly say that I actually discovered your blog through your new Instagram account - so it was definitely worth it! I just binge read all you posts and I LOVE your blog. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, thank you Rachel! That's so nice of you, glad you like my blog :)
DeleteReally glad you joined Instagram, I love seeing your stuff! :) And your books must be a lot more well behaved than mine because I find taking pictures of them difficult xD Well, I struggle more with backgrounds than the books, but still, aha.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I joined too - I'm loving it so far :) My books are well behaved...most of the time (though it can take a few tries to get the perfect shot with lighting etc.). Thanks for stopping by Alise!
DeleteThank you so much for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Cynthia, good luck!
DeleteYay for joining Instagram!! My pictures are so bad xD I'm sure yours will be lovely though :D
ReplyDeleteRachel @ A Perfection Called Books
Awh Rachel they're not bad at all! I still don't think I've gotten the full hang of taking an insta-worthy photo though, but we'll see how we go :)
DeleteAwesome giveaway! Thanks for hosting it. It's cool you've gotten an instagram. I have one but I haven't done anything with it. I'll have to rectify that.
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to add that I've mentioned/tagged you here: http://thescribblingsprite.blogspot.com/2015/07/new-discoveries-tag-special-announcement.html
No worries Ally, and thanks for the mention! :)
DeleteYAY for Instagram! I've only been more active since I bought my iPhone, because before that I had to rely on my tablet ... and it wasn't the best, haha. I am really quite awful at tags, but I have HEAPS to complete, so I'll tag your for some of them so you can photograph your bookish models ^.^
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the followers, and here's to many more to come! <3
Those tags do stack up, don't they? I have a few to do myself, but it can be a hassle getting the books which fit into it off the shelf, taking the photo, then trying to find where they went in the first place...though I guess that's part of the fun! Thanks Chiara :)
