I missed last week's installment, so there are a lot of things happening in this one! With STRAY feels abound, as well as a whole heap of new books to add to my shelves, things have been quite busy over here. So without further ado...
*Reading Right Now*
The first book is slowly coming back to me while reading this, and I'm enjoying it.

*Recommendation of the Week*
I read and LOVED Jackie French's interpretation of Ophelia, which is quite different from the one I read a few years ago in another novel by Lisa Klein. I'd still recommend trying them both out and seeing what you think - it's fascinating to read about other author's interpretations of such well-known characters.

I finished reading Stray by Rachael Craw a while ago now, but only just got to making the rest of the quote graphics, so here they are! Feel free to use them on your own blogs/social media etc., or make your own even.
*What I've Been Watching*
On Friday I went to go and see The Scorch Trials with my best friend since we watched The Maze Runner last year and enjoyed it. Though I haven't read the books, I still found this movie to be quite good. I couldn't help but notice a few GoT actors in there (random observation), and boy were there some jump scares. Seriously, even though you can *tell* something is going to come out of nowhere, I almost jumped out of my seat (LITERALLY) at one point. This is an edgy film which almost has a few ties with The Walking Dead, and heaps of action scenes when they count. The suspense is palpable, and now I'm looking forward to seeing how the next installment turns out.
So - how has your week been?
Ohhh I'm SO EXCITED FOR THE SCORCH TRIALS!! The books are just my favourite things of ever and seeing Petyr Baelish from Game of Thrones in the trailer made me SNORTLE. He basically is a rat in Game of Thrones, right!?!? And then he's the Rat Man in Scorch Trials? ZOMG THIS IS TOO PERFECT. hehe
ReplyDeleteI finally read The Diviners!! :D
Awk, thanks for sharing my post too...you are the nicest. ^_^
My sister is loving the books, and so I might try reading them even though I couldn't get into the first one when I first gave it a go. I hope you enjoy the movie as much as I did - and yes - he is basically the same kind of character in this #gofigure.
DeleteOoh looking forward to seeing what you thought of The Diviners! :)
I've always wanted to read the Diviners by Libba Bray, but it's soooooooo huge. Perhaps when I have some time in the future. Oh those Ophelias look interesting!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week. :)
It's definitely a hefty book - but well worth it when you have the time!
DeleteThe Scorch Trials was so intense! Like I was LITERALLY on the edge of my seat the whole time and I jumped so many times with the Cranks jumping out, even though, yes, you could see something was coming... And I love Jackie French but I really need to read more of her books!
ReplyDeleteI AGREE - and it was so much more intense than I even expected! I am a *huge* Jackie French fan, I'd definitely recommend checking out some of her new releases, especially in the Matilda Saga :)
DeleteI got the Diviners and Lair of Dreams on special from Booktopia...haven't read them yet, but OH MY GOSH THEY'RE HUGE! Like, SO MASSIVE!
ReplyDeleteI'll get around to reading them...one day...
Love the Stray Quote Graphics :)
They are pretty big (I think almost if not *the* biggest on my shelf O.o) However, they are really good once you get into them, looking forward to hearing what you think :)
