WOW. It's been a year since I first started this blog...and what a fantastic one it's been!
Since I decided to go solo after co-blogging with Stephanie @ Chasm of Books, I never could have imagined how my little space on the interwebs would have developed into what it is now. It's a space where I have shared my thoughts on the books I love (and some that I don't), written some discussions which I had inspiration for in the middle of the night, and had many a fangirling session with other members of the bookish community.
I can't thank you all enough for the support you've all given me over the year - through not only following, but the meaningful comments you've left, fun twitter chats and always interesting discussions about these little things called books which we all have in common.
- To all the authors who write AMAZING books - especially my favourites Jackie French, Rachael Craw (#SparkArmy woooo!), Jessica L. Brooks, Ginger Scott, Sarah Ayoub, Kate Forsyth and THE LIST GOES ON....Thank you for writing novels which have stuck with me long after I've turned the last page, left me both elated and in tears, and of course getting excited over a huge list of book boyfriends.
- To the Aussie YA Blogging/Bookish Community - For proving that blogging/fangirling and managing study is possible, my fellow HSC/VCE'ers Emily and Renee deserve a special mention.
- To all the bloggers who I've connected with, you guys all contribute something special and unique to the table, and thank you for stopping by here as well!
And to anyone else I've forgotten to mention or can't fit in here - please know that I appreciate every bit of time you take out of your life to visit Genie In A Book and leave your thoughts. It means so much that people read my content and engage with it.
- To my family and non-blogger friends - thank you for putting up with my book talk over things you probably didn't even know about, and supporting me in blogging right from the start as well when all this was still an idea floating around in my head.
- To my English teacher Ms Field - who always encouraged me in my writing and just recently discovered my blog, thank you for your endless support and also being someone who I can always talk to about literature.
- A massive thank you has to go to all the amazing Australian publishing houses who have given me the privilege of reviewing for them, participating in blog tours and going to events. While as of late I haven't been reviewing as often as I'd like, I try to do each book justice. From November when my finals are finished, I should be able to turn into more of my previous super-blogging self (that's the plan anyway!).
Okay, now I'm feeling all soft and mushy after saying all that - so why not continue with a piece of virtual cake hmm? Enjoy my friends!
Basically, I hope I've been able to convey how grateful I am for each and every one of you who have been there with me on my blogging journey. I hope to be doing this for a long time to come, not just because of the books - but because I'm part of a huge group of people who love them as much as I do.
I cannot believe it's been a year already Eugenia! I remember when I read your post about starting a fresh here and that only feels like a few months ago, and yet you've achieved so much.
