Genie's Weekly News (45) - Mini Hiatus

Monday 5 October 2015

Hi everyone! So it's officially one week to go until the HSC starts...which is both nerve-wracking and exciting at the same time, because once my three weeks of exams are over that's it! I can see my TBR pile getting smaller a lot quicker once that happens.

This is good, but quite strange as well. Patrick Ness's novels always seem to have that uniqueness to them though so I'm interested to see what direction it takes.

*I'm going on hiatus*

Because of my finals coming up I'll be taking a mini-hiatus from now until 29th October. There may be some posts up here and there which I've scheduled, but other than that I'll be focused on my studies and ready to come back with a whole new wealth of posts later this month!

And OH MY GOSH GOOD LUCK WITH THE HSC!!! You aren't going to know what to do with yourself once it's over, so get that TBR pile nice and high.

  5. Best of luck with your studies! It will all turn out well in the end, I'm sure - though I'm not exactly sure what HSC is so... But taking a break will let you focus without stressing so all the best.

    1. Thank you for your well-wishes Rachel, I hope it all works out :) The HSC is basically your final exams of high school here in Australia which gives you a mark that goes into determining what university course you get into.

    1. I've heard his 'Chaos Walking' series is really good so maybe start with that? :)

  8. How is The Rest of Us Live Here? I really want to read that, though people have recommended me to read Patrick Ness' Chaos Walking series instead of this one to start with his works. Hmm. I also have After Alice in by TBR. I love Alice in Wonderland, so... let's say I'm intrigued.

    1. It was a pretty good read, though overall not as mindblowing as I was hoping for - I'm not really sure Patrick Ness novels are for me, at least this one. I do want to check out the Chaos Walking series though so I might like that better! Thanks for stopping by Vane :)

  16. I'm so intrigued by that Patrick Ness book. I tried reading one of this others, and it just did NOT work for me. So I'm a little hesitant now... I'm not sure his writing style is for me. But I'll probably end up giving that one a try because it sounds so good!!

Good luck with your finals!! See you when you get back! :)
